The Essential Herbal is written by, for, and about herbie people and the things they love. It is a grassroots publication that talks about the things you want to know when it comes to herbs. I'm not a gardener any more, but I *love* reading about what others are growing. Sometimes I even get to write about aromatherapy. We did an article on Hydrosols years ago. (Or did we only talk about doing one?) At any rate, Tina, the editor is a delight. Her blog is on my featured "my favorite blog" list.The Magazine is great to curl up with when it's too blustery outside to be doing anything...helps you plan, even if the herbs you are going to be using come from the Farmer's Market.

I once tried my luck with an herbal garden. I planted rosemary, peppermint, and lavender.. The rosemary and peppermint grew well, though the lavender grew a little sparse.
However, my mother now has lavender growing in the same area and it thrived! She tells me she has done nothing special to make this happen, though I think otherwise. Could this magazine clue me in? :-P

If I win this subscription I will put it to full use. I am an amateur, but have started a green campaign in my city in hopes of getting others to realize how green living is what is needed to sustain a real future on this Earth for ourselves as well our children and fellow man/woman.
The Essental Herbal is one of my favorite sources of information. I can no longer afford the subscription. I miss the magazine so much!

Getting a subscription to this magazine, The Essential Herbal, could be really beneficial. I was surprised to hear about how much informative content actually goes into this magazine each month. It gives great pointers about the best process to take when growing your own herbs from home. It also gives some helpful advise on aromatherapy and hydrosols. If any of these areas fascinate you, then you might want to check out this magazine sometime. It can also be a great introduction to learning about various herbs and how they can be used along with how it could remedy certain conditions.
